New Shorthorn Stud for Yanco Agricultural High School

3 registered Shorthorn Heifers have been donated to Yanco Agricultural High School as a nucleus for a Shorthorn herd at the School.

The presentation took place at the School’s Gala Day on Saturday 16^th March. The registered heifers were donated by, Spry’s Shorthorns Wagga & Tamworth, the Schuller family’s Outback Shorthorns, Culcairn and Barrie & Yvonne Crotty’s Barvon Shorthorn Stud, Mulwala.

 Students were delighted to have the opportunity to breed and work with a Shorthorn herd. This gives many students the chance to see what the Shorthorn breed can add to our commercial beef industry. Yanco Ag High School students have shown Shorthorn steers for a number of Hoof & Hook competitions and have been very successful.
